New Grade for spring 2024 is a national recognition for patient safety
MOBERLY, MO, (May 1, 2024) – Moberly Regional Medical Center has received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national organization and advocate for patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
"Safety is our number one priority for our patients and our employees," said Michael Hall, MRMC chief executive officer. "Every single day, every staff member on the MRMC team is dedicated to people getting well and living healthier. It is our goal at Moberly Regional Medical Center to provide compassionate patient care in the safest possible environment.”
This national distinction celebrates Moberly Regional Medical Center’s achievements in prioritizing patient safety by protecting patients from preventable harm and errors. In addition to receiving the “A” Hospital Safety Grade, MRMC recently celebrated five years without a serious safety event.
“At Moberly Regional Medical Center, we strive to deliver patient-centered care to every single patient every time,” said Daniel Gilbert, D.O., general surgeon and chief medical officer of MRMC. “Our hospital team works diligently to provide positive patient outcomes. I applaud our hospital care teams and medical staff for their commitment to provide high quality care to our communities.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that harm patients. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
“Everyone who works at Moberly Regional Medical Center should be proud of this ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It takes complete dedication at every level, and an ironclad commitment to putting patients first. I thank Moberly Regional Medical Center, its leadership, clinicians, staff, and volunteers for caring so deeply for its patients and their safety.”
