Moberly Regional Medical Center Hosts Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive to Fight Hunger
3/1/2024
MOBERLY, Mo. (March 1, 2024) – Moberly Regional Medical Center invites community members to join their efforts to fight hunger by participating in the second annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive benefiting the Christos Center in Moberly. Peanut butter is a sought after item for food banks because of its high nutritional value and long shelf life. Yet, it is one of the least donated items. The Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive kicks off on March 4 and will run through March 25.
“We recognize the impact hunger has on an individual’s health and wellbeing, and we want to help those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity,” said Michael Hall, MRMC CEO. “An estimated 14.2% of people in Randolph County are facing food insecurity. Our Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive is a great way to partner with community members to reduce hunger in our area.”
Help us collect as much peanut butter (or other nutritious butters like almond butter or sunflower seed butter) to support the Christos Center. Bring your plastic jar donations (no glass, please) to the bins located in the MRMC main lobby or to the Human Resources Office between the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
MRMC staff members started the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive in 2023 to help address hunger in our community collecting more than 950 jars of peanut butter (and other nut butters) for the Christos Center. All of that peanut butter was donated by MRMC’S employees, board members and medical staff members.
