Emergency Services
Emergencies can happen at any time. That’s why it’s important to be prepared and know where to go when you need medical care - fast. Moberly Regional Medical Center's emergency department is staffed by MU Health Care physicians. Together, these teams provide immediate access to care in a medical crisis.
The highly trained staff can provide care for everything from cuts and broken bones to life-threatening conditions such as heart attack or stroke. We provide efficient, prompt and compassionate care, and offer:
What you can expect when you come to our emergency room:
- When you arrive, your condition will be assessed by an ER nurse through a process called 'triage,' which helps staff to prioritize patients according to their needs and put the most critical emergencies first. (If you are very ill or arrive by ambulance, you will be taken to an exam room for treatment immediately.)
- Your vital signs will be taken during triage (temperature, heart rate, blood pressure), and you will be asked about your symptoms, name, address, medical history, medications list and drug allergies.
- The ER physician will examine you and evaluate your condition. Tests may be ordered such as EKG, X-ray, lab work or other diagnostic procedures as necessary.
- The ER physician will discuss your condition with you and provide necessary treatment.
- You will be admitted to the hospital, if necessary.
- Upon leaving, you will be asked to present your insurance information. We will file your insurance claims and handle all the paperwork. If you do not have insurance, we will expect payment for all services before you leave the hospital.
- Patients with the most severe injuries or illnesses will be seen first.
