Patsy Lewellen Promoted to MRMC Chief Nursing Officer

Moberly, MO, September 18, 2017---Moberly Regional Medical Center (MRMC) congratulates Patsy Lewellen, RN, on her promotion to Chief Nursing Officer.
Lewellen has worked at MRMC since 2009 in many capacities. She has served as the Director of the Acute Care Unit, Critical Care Unit, Outpatient Services and the Emergency Department. She has managed the responsibilities of clinical oversight, education and training, scheduling, and the daily operations of all units.
Lewellen is always willing to assume additional roles and responsibilities as the need arises. She has a broad knowledge and experience base which has qualified her for multiple roles in the hospital. She is dedicated to her job, colleagues, organization and community.
An exceptional clinician, Lewellen serves as a role model for the provision of quality and compassionate care. She often works side-by-side with her staff no matter how difficult or unpleasant the task is. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and her ability to establish trust has earned her respect from patients, staff, colleagues and physicians. These attributes have also earned her the title of Clinical Manager of the Year in 2012 and 2014.
“Patsy’s promotion to head the nursing departments at MRMC was a natural transition of her role and came as no surprise to those who work with her,” said MRMC CEO Ranee Brayton. “We are privileged to have a clinician of her caliber leading our team and were thrilled to promote from within our staff. Before coming to MRMC, Lewellen worked for 20 years with the University of Missouri Staff for Life helicopter service, serving as the chief flight nurse and program director. She is highly respected for her work in this field. During her tenure with the University of Missouri she was presented the Excellence in Nursing awards for the Coronary Intensive Care Unit in 1992 and the Staff for Life Helicopter Service in 1999, as well as the Medicine Center Divisional Achievement award in 1995.
Patsy resides with her family in rural Moberly.
